Do I need a building permit?

We have quite a few of our customers ask if they are required to pull a building permit for their project. For most of the jobs we construct, the answer is YES. There are a few instances where a building permit is not required. These requirements vary from city to city and county to county. For the most part if we are building a free-standing patio cover that is less than 100 square feet we are not required to get a permit, Again this does vary. We have a strict set of engineering that we use regardless of whether or not we are pulling a permit. We use this engineering to ensure we are build a structure that will last for years to come and that it can withstand what ever the environment can throw at it. We have been in business since 1947, and we have been around so long for one reason, we take care of our customer an we stand behind what we build. Even when we have a job that has a permit, we count of the homeowner to be our true final inspector.

Siding

By deciding to use siding for your home, you will not only enhance the appearance of the house, but also reduce the maintenance cost of your home in the long run. There are various materials available, but most home owners prefer vinyl, aluminium and fiber-cement.

When you use siding, you get some serious benefits for your house:

  • The house exterior looks very pleasing to the eyes, having now an appeal that might not have had before
  • It maintains its clean look even years after, without having to paint or re-paint the exterior walls
  • It keeps maintenance costs at minimum as you hardly have to do any work on your home’s exterior

When you want to install it, you will soon realize that it’s not such an easy task as you first thought. To get the best results you really need the expert hands of a professional. Once installed however, it needs hardly any maintenance. It only needs to be cleaned once a year with a garden hose and possibly a power washer.

Siding is great for home improvement and using vinyl is a popular choice to many home owners. This is a great way to remodel your old and boring looking exterior without having to do a major job on your walls.

One of the most beautiful sunrooms we build is the refined English Conservatory style sunrooms. Benefits of aluminum patio covers

We get quite a few customers asking us what the benefit is for an aluminum patio cover over a wood structure. To be honest there are a lot of reasons. Aluminum for our patio covers is made with natural recycled material, which is very eco-friendly. You can even recycle a patio cover after it's been up for 20+ years. Our aluminum patio covers are virtually maintenance free, as opposed to a wood cover that will need to be resealed and water proofed many time over it's short life span. There is also a variety of beautiful colors to choose from which are powder coated to last a lifetime with no upkeep. Aluminum patio covers can withstand much more abuse from the elements such ans high winds or snow where a wood cover will deteriorate that much quicker when exposed to the same forces. If your looking for something that will beautify your home for many years to come & is environmentally friendly, you need not look any further than Pacific Builders and our aluminum patio covers. I have been working very hard to keep our photos on our website up to date so stop by and check them out at www.pacificbuilders.com.

Fall Sunrooms

Well fall is upon us, and we are very fortunate to have the work we do. I'm really looking forward to the enclosures we are starting. It seem that most of the rooms we have been building lately have been much more than the traditional 3 walls and a roof. We have completed some spectacular rooms that really blended into the house like the were really meant to be there. It never ceases to amaze me some of the ideas our designers come up with, making the ordinary extraordinary. The last room I did a walk through on felt much more like a conventional addition, than just a seasonal enclosure. I am blessed to be part of such a special company like Pacific Builders who stands behind their products.
